Located on roughly 30 acres or rolling Bluegrass farmland, The Johnston's Inn is a true Kentucky treasure, and is believed to be the oldest house in Bourbon County. Erected in 1782, the inn was established by Captain Robert Johnston, a Revolutionary War veteran born in Virginia in 1749. He and his wife, Peggy McClanahan Johnston, operated the inn, which became a well-known stopover for travelers on the main road between Maysville and Lexington. The Inn accommodated stagecoach and horseback passengers, providing rest and refreshment during their journeys. The property has been masterfully restored, introducing modern amenities while still maintaining much of its original character and charm. The property's zoning allows for single family residence, entertainment venue and short term rentals. The accessory barn can serve as additional space for hosting private events. Johnson's Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places.
